The COA organized the "2019 Taiwan International Orchid Show," and set up themed pavilions including the "Orchid Land Pavilion," "Orchid Creativity Pavilion," "Competition Pavilion," "Orchid Market," "Commerce Pavilion" and the "Overseas Scenery Avenue."
The drought emergency response team announced areas eligible for agricultural natural disaster cash relief and low-interest loans.
The COA announced amendments to Paragraph 8 of the "Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Animal and Animal Products" and to its Appendix 4-1 "Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Game Meats and Their Products" while changing the name of Appendix 4-1 to "Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Game Meats"; on the same day the COA announced the amendment of the "Operational Directions for Simplification on Conducting Quarantine Inspection of Import and Export Animal Products," which went into effect on March 1. The goal was to clearly define game meats and further simplify inspection and quarantine operations for its importation.
Participated in "Foodex Japan 2019."
Announced amendments to the "Regulations for Tuna Longline or Purse Seine Fishing Vessels Proceeding to the Pacific Ocean for Fishing Operation," amendments to Articles 2 and 3 of the "Regulations on the Management and Guidance of the Equipment for Vessel Position Reporting, Catch Reporting, Navigational Chart, and Monitoring Center," and amendments to the "Regulations on the Authorization and Management of Overseas Employment of Foreign Crew Members."
Announced the amendment of Article 28 of the "Enforcement Rules of the Fisheries Act," to simplify attached documents for applications for renewal of fishing licenses.
Sent staff to the Seychelles to attend the 5th meeting of the Technical Committee on Allocation Criteria and the 2nd meeting of the Technical Committee on Performance Review of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC).
Held a press conference on "protecting the right to join in farmers' health insurance of farmers cultivating public land along rivers."
Announced amendments to partial articles of the "Animal Transportation and Management Regulations" and Article 8-1 of the "Regulations for Slaughter Operation," to require live pig and pig carcass transportation vehicles to install GPS.
Held a press conference on "pineapple surpasses 10,000 metric tons in exports and an export platform is established."
Vice-President Chen Chien-jen visited the Paiwan Ethnic School in Pingtung County to participate in 2019 Arbor Day activities, at which indigenous tree species symbolizing the continuity of culture were planted.
The COA held the "Event to Recognize Accomplishments in Forestry and Nature Conservation," in order to remind citizens of the importance of forestry and conservation.
Announced the "Minimum Amount of the Endowment Property and Percentage of Cash at the Time of Establishment for National Agricultural Foundations."
