Sent staff to Geneva, Switzerland to attend negotiations on fisheries subsidies in the Informal Open-ended Negotiating Group on Rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Sent staff to San Diego, USA to attend the 10th Meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission.
Sent staff to Brussels, Belgium to attend the 2nd Taiwan-EU Human Rights Consultations.
Announced the "Directions Governing Codes of Ethical Practice for Agricultural Foundations that Apply to Paragraph 2 of Article 24 of 'Foundation Act' About the Specific Amount of the Total Property" and the "Regulation Governing the Preparation of Work Plan, Budget, Work Report and Financial Statements for the Agricultural Foundation."
Announced the "Regulations for Approving and Supervising Organic Accreditation Bodies," the "Regulations Governing Awards to Informants Reporting Violations Against the Organic Agriculture Promotion Act," the "Regulations for Managing and Reviewing Imported Organic Agricultural Products," the "Regulations for Managing the Labeling and Marks of Organic Agricultural Products and In-conversion Agricultural Products," the "Enforcement Rules for Organic Agriculture Promotion Act," and the "Regulations on Rewards and Subsidies for Organic Farming."
JUN The COA sent staff to Boston, USA to attend the Taiwan-US Bilateral Fisheries Consultations and renewed the "Taiwan-US Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Cooperation in Fisheries and Aquaculture" and the "Taiwan-US Joint Plan of Work Concerning Cooperation in Fisheries and Aquaculture."
Announced amendments to Articles 9 and 14 of the "Regulations for Longline Fishing Vessels Operating in the Maritime Area Subject to the Fisheries Agreement between Taiwan and Japan" and to partial articles of the "Regulations for the Issuance of Building Permit and Fishing License of Fishing Vessel."
Announced the "Regulations for Rewards of Voluntary Fishing Suspense," to ensure that there are clear rules to follow for the handling of rewards for voluntary suspension of fishing operations.
Sent staff to Hyderabad, India, to attend the 16th Session of the Compliance Committee, the 16th Session of the Standing Committee on Administration and Finance, the 3rd Session of the Technical Committee on Management Procedures, and the 23rd Session of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC).
Sent staff to Mauritius to attend the 3rd Compliance Committee Meeting and the 6th Meeting of the Parties of the Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA).
Received a report of the discovery of larvae of the fall armyworm in Miaoli County, and established an emergency response team for invasion by the fall armyworm.
