Announced amendments to the methods and scope of use of six pesticides, including "fluopyram and trifloxystrobin," "polyoxorim," "mandipropamid," "kasugamycin and tricyclazole," "cyflufenamid and triflumizole," and "lambda-cyhalothrin."
Announced the amendment of Article 10 of the "Regulations for Tuna Longline or Purse Seine Fishing Vessels Proceeding to the Pacific Ocean for Fishing Operation" and amendments to Articles 3 and 8 of the "Regulations About Standards for Determinations and Examinations of Qualifications to Persons Who Engage in Fishery Work and Apply to Join in National Health Insurance Programs."
Announced the amendment of Article 5 of the "Enforcement Rules of Fishing Port Act" to clearly stipulate that the Competent Authorities in municipalities, cities, and counties for demarcating specific zones in Second Category fishing ports shall consult with the central Competent Authority to avoid designating too many specific zones for non-fishing uses in these ports and also avoid excessively commercialized development, which would reduce space for fishing uses and thereby affect the rights and interests of fishermen.
Announced the "Regulations for Squid Jigging Fishing Vessels Exploring the Indian Ocean for Fishing Operation," setting regulations on developing new fishing grounds for squid in the northern Indian Ocean and providing Taiwan's distant water fishing industry with broader fishing opportunities.
Announced the "Regulations for Managing the Production and Marketing of Coastal Hairtail and Fishing Vessels Carrying Coastal Hairtail" to set norms for management of production and marketing of coastal hairtail and of vessels transporting them.
Held the presentation ceremony for the "2019 Taiwan Rural Elite Awards."
Announced the "Regulations on the Management of Torch Light Net Neritic Squid Fishery" to bring torch light net fishing vessels under the same controls as fishing vessels of other types in order to ensure sustainable management of fisheries resources.
Announced the "Regulations for Management of Pole Fishing Area of the Donggang Yanpu Fishing Harbor, Pingtung County" to specify the pole fishing area and relevant matters for management.
Sent staff to Capetown, South Africa to attend the 14th Meeting of the Compliance Committee and the Extended Commission for the 26th Meeting of the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT).
