Announced the amendment of Appendix 1 of Paragraph 3 of the "Operational Directions for Subsidies on Pilot Agricultural Insurance."
Announced the amendment of Article 2 of the "Regulations of Subsidy for the Compensation for Emergency Control of Plant Diseases and Pests," adding language to the effect that, during serious epidemics, subsidies from the central Competent Authority are no longer limited to one-half.
Signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for Strengthening the Exchange on Food and Culture" with the government of Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.
Held the "APEC 2019 Expert Consultation on Reducing Food Losses and Waste for Addressing Interlinked Challenge of Food Security and Climate Change."
Announced the amendment of the "Types and Scope of Specific Plant Diseases and Pests" to add monitoring of fall armyworms in corn and other economic crops nationwide.
Set up seven main exhibition areas under the theme of "Food Travel in Taiwan" for the "2019 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition."
Held a series of activities to mark "World Ranger Day" entitled "Let Us Protect the Forest Together," showing respect for forest rangers and sharing the exciting experiences and stories of those who protect our forests with the public.
Local farmers' associations began accepting cabbage cultivation registration nationwide, and handled relevant subsidy matters.
The COA announced the "Regulations for Management of Pole Fishing Area of the Hsinchu Fishing Harbor, Hsinchu City" to specify the pole fishing area and relevant matters for management.
Announced amendments to the methods and scope of use of five pesticides, including "abamectin," "acetamiprid," "pyraclostrobin and boscalid," "methoxyfenozide," and "spiromesifen."
Announced amendments to partial articles of the "Regulations for the Labeling of Agro-pesticide," giving pesticide dealers the duty to disclose the special features of agro-pesticides and providing users with clearer directions for use and notifications for hazard prevention.
Working with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, announced amendments to Articles 3, 8, and 10 of the "Regulations About Standards for Determinations and Examinations of Qualifications to Persons Who Engage in Agricultural Work and Apply to Join in National Health Insurance Programs."
Announced amendments to partial articles of the "Regulations for Trial Operation of Farmers' Occupational Injury Insurance" to broaden the scope of people eligible to join in farmers' occupational-injury insurance.
Announced amendments to Articles 25, 46, and 69 of the "Regulations Governing Personnel Management of Farmers' Association," adding a provision that staff at farmers' associations need no longer be limited to the "single all-inclusive salary" system, in order to encourage farmers' associations to coordinate with the promotion of important policies; also, the language of the Regulations was amended to prevent discrimination against the disabled.
