Of this, the total value of exports from Taiwan to NSP partner countries was US$1.436 billion, an increase of 9.32% over 2017. In 2018, the value of fertilizer, pesticides, and agricultural machinery and equipment exported from Taiwan to NSP partner countries was US$184 million, an increase of 15.04% over 2017. B. Strengthening two-way exchanges of agricultural talent and technology: The COA arranged exchanges and training for people from agricultural administrative departments and research institutions a total of 606 man- times. We also provided 148 foreign and overseas Chinese students with opportunities to explore careers in agriculture for 1,764 man-days, and arranged for 87 foreign and overseas Chinese students to do agricultural labor for 1,643 man-days. C. Comprehensively upgrading agricultural cooperative relations with NSP partner countries: In 2018 the COA continued to deepen agricultural cooperation with NSP partner countries, including the signing of an action plan for the “Modern Agriculture Demo Farm in Karawang” within the framework of Taiwan-Indonesia agricultural cooperation. The two sides are cooperating in five major areas (irrigation, rice cultivation, the horticulture industry, duck farming, and farmers’ organizations) to assist Indonesia to increase agricultural productivity and farmers’ incomes. At the same time, Taiwan can increase its exports of relevant materials to Indonesia, creating a win-win situation. Meanwhile, the COA worked with the Philippines to establish a “Technology Demonstration Button Mushroom Growing House” in Baguio, for which things like mushroom growing technology, equipment, and shiitake   The “5th Taiwan-Israel Agricultural Working Group Meeting,” held on November 12.    101
