According to the Agricultural Statistics Yearbook （2007）there indicated that the annual value of geese production was about 2 billion NT dollar and the annual slaughtered volume were about 5,873 thousand geese in Taiwan. The White Roman breed was the major breed and had 97% of geese market. The number of farms might be about one thousand and three hundred in Taiwan. The White Roman geese feeding area in Taiwan were spread mostly over Yunlin county、Chiayi county、Tainan county、Pingtung county and Chunghua county. The Chinese geese feeding area in Taiwan were limited in Taoyuan county、Chinchu county and Miaoli county. The goose was a seasonal breeder. For limitation of reproduction season, in the past the geese farmer had a half year feeding geese and had a half year feeding Muscovy. Raising geese or not the farmers were dependent on the situation of industrial environment at that time. Since 1999 there was motivated the good goose management system by Council of Agriculture,Executive Yuan（COA）. Under this system the number of eggs incubated and the number of gosling produced were announced weekly by geese information stations. The farmers would be coordinated with the figures announced. The goose industry would enter into the substantial era.
